Operation Protest: Failed
I told our teacher about our views on her decision for the play. She said, "Sorry, but this is what I have chosen to do." I told her that I'd rather just have Catherine do the whole thing. She went on to say that Catherine's schedule didn't give her enough time to be able to memorize the whole thing, and neither did mine. What? I don't do anything. I mean, yes. I have voice on Monday, Young Womens on Tuesday, and acapella practice Thursday and Friday. But those each take out, what, an hour of my time after school? I hate to be unrealistic, but I feel that I could probably have half the play memorized within a week. And from what I can tell, Catherine doesn't have that much of a schedule, either. I'm pretty sure she isn't doing any sports right now. So.. I don't understand what the problem is. I'm just going to have to accept that we aren't going to get our way.

I'm tempted to call this lady and complain :P
ReplyDeleteWhat's funny is that I actually love her. But she has this idea about each of her students being a certain way. She has it in her head that I have a busy schedule, and that Olivia is really girly, and that Alex is nice, and that Jeremy is picked on, and that Trevor and Brendon are mean, and that Allison is a stereotypical cheerleader, and so on so forth. It gets annoying, because the students aren't really the way she thinks they are.
ReplyDeleteSheesh! Which teacher is this? Emma, you are going to have to get used to this. You are definitely not going to be able to argue with Mr. Witt if you are going to be in musicals. Or any teacher for that matter. Sorry if that sounded mean, i'm just sayin'. Sometimes going with the flow is really the best for that moment.
ReplyDeleteWhich teacher is this? Anyway, it doesn't matter what she thinks about other people, we don't have to judge her on that. Also, sometimes it is easier to go with the flow on what teachers say. If you are going to be in plays at the high school, you can't be arguing with Mr. Witt :) Or really any teacher for that matter. Sometimes it is ok to let others have a turn in the spotlight too ;)
ReplyDeleteWhoops, that posted twice, dang it. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteIt's Swartzendruber. And like I'm pretty sure I said, it's not that I want the spotlight for myself. I don't think anyone should have to share. That's why I said I'd rather just let Catherine do the whole thing, because neither of us should have to share. If not because it's not fair, then because it will just look tacky. But I'm not really arguing with her. I'm just voicing my opinion on the matter.
ReplyDeleteI know. Hopefully it will work out. I know you will be great, whatever you decide! :) Say hi to Swartzendruber for me :)
